VACCEB is a proud supporter of programs and initiatives that support the health of the Southeast Asian community.
Through our partnerships with national, regional and local agencies, VACCEB is addressing health issues and needs affecting our community. Among them are Hepatitis B, breast and cervical cancer, mental health and social isolation, prostate cancer and hypertension. Education workshops and seminars, and research projects are ongoing throughout the year.
VACCEB focuses on developing programs for adults and seniors who face limited access due to language within cultural and other socioeconomic barriers. VACCEB collaborates with many partners to host health fairs and screening events. For example, we work with the Cancer Prevention Institute of California and Asian Health Services to help educate nail salon workers and owners to avoid the health risk associated with their occupation. Case management and translation services are among the services provided to community members.
We have broaden our reputation in the community as the “go to” center and “service provider of choice” for Southeast Asians and will continue to strengthen our health initiatives in the coming year.
